About Harvey Reiter, DMD
Dr. Reiter graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dentistry and moved to New Mexico after having practiced in Washington, DC for many years. After living in large cities most of his life, he finds life in Las Cruces relaxing and the people very friendly. Dr. Reiter has had over 40 years of experience in dentistry.
Dr. Reiter has completed several continuing education courses about dental implants. Some of the most impactful trainings were at the Trinon Collegium Practicum, at the Engel Institute, and with Dr. Todd Shatkin at the Mini Dental Implant Center of America. Dr. Reiter continued his training with mini residences in full-mouth reconstruction, TMD, and sleep apnea. He also received his certification in oral sedation dentistry to provide anxiety-free, painless treatments for his patients.
While his goal is to help people keep their natural teeth as long as possible, he realizes that there comes a time when this is not possible or practical. When Dr. Reiter learned about the magic of dental implants, he immediately committed himself to becoming competent in this area. He has personally lost teeth and had them replaced with implants and therefore realizes how life changing these can be.
Dr. Reiter realizes that fear keeps many people from seeking dental care, so Advanced Dental is committed to providing excellent dental care in an environment that is as pain-free as possible. Dr. Reiter is certified in oral conscious sedation to further accomplish this goal.
Cost is always a factor, so Dr. Reiter has searched several outside financing companies, and we now have an economical solution for most patients.
To keep up with the latest in technology and technique, Dr. Reiter takes over 100 hours of advanced education a year even though the state’s requirement is only 55 hours every three years.
Dr. Reiter has a son who is an attorney and a daughter who is a CPA. He is happily married to Kathy Trinh from Saigon, Vietnam, and some of the doctor’s favorite past times are car racing, traveling, reading, and target shooting.
